Kelli Smith, Ed.D., is a distinguished educational leader with over 30 years of experience driving systemic change in K-12 education. She holds a Doctorate in Executive Leadership for Educational Equity from the University of Colorado Denver, as well as an M.A. in Educational Leadership and a B.A. in Education.
Dr. Smith specializes in designing high-functioning learning communities built on multi-layered support systems for every student. Her research specifically examines the impact of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) on teacher collective efficacy. A strategic systems-thinker, she is recognized for her ability to align district policy with legislative requirements while fostering collaborative, data-driven environments.

I was invited to participate in an "Egg Talk" to conclude the 2025 National School Counseling Leadership Conference, hosted by Hatching Results LLC., the leading organization that provides professional training for school counselor leaders. My talk focused on the work I directed within our district, guiding our school counseling teams through the alignment with the ASCA National Model.

It was a distinct honor to present to our most dedicated and supportive school professionals—School Counselors. I shared research-based rationales for student behavior and outlined the necessary steps for our schools to ensure they are adequately addressing students' current mental health and academic requirements.
